He said, “Since opening its doors in 2010 to host the 2nd Asian Beach Games Muscat, the Millennium Resort Mussanah has proven to be a destination of choice amongst domestic and regional travelers especially during national and public holidays.”
He added, “It is by creating quality tourism infrastructure such as this resort that Omran supports the long-term sustainable development of this flourishing sector and brings new forms of income into local communities.”
The recently launched facilities at the Millennium Resort Mussanah are part of Omran’s master plan to transform the resort into a major tourism attraction. Omran is currently in the final stages of adding more variety to the resort’s growing amenities including a Compass Lounge, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, a fully equipped gymnasium, a women’s only and mixed spa facility as well as a relaxation lounge area.
As part of the celebrations taking place in Al Mussanah, Omran reaffirmed its commitment to developing local communities by signing a MoU with Dar Al Atta’a and Millennium Resort Mussanah to activate the ‘Musahamatee’ Program. Conceptualized by Omran, ‘Musahamatee’ is a philanthropic program that allows hotel guests to make a donation towards charity organizations directly from their dining and/or accommodation bills. Millennium Resort Mussanah is the first hotel to come onboard Omran’s ‘Musahamatee’ program and has already started rolling out the program to its guests and visitors.
The MoU signing was presided by H.E. Dr. Yahya bin Bader Al Mawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, and was signed by Eng. Wael Al Lawati, CEO of Omran, Maryam Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a and Maurice Derooij, General Manager of Millennium Resort Mussanah.
Eng. Wael bin Ahmed Al Lawati, CEO of Omran, said “Omran is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of local communities where it operates and this approach is reflected in our developments, investments and the hospitality assets we manage.”
He added, “Innovative CSR initiatives are what distinguish Omran from other companies. These simple, yet highly effective programs, such as ‘Musahamatee’, can have real and far-reaching benefits to local communities and we are pleased to partner with Dar Al Atta’a as they are fully capable of identifying and reaching those in need.”
Eng. Al Lawati also extended his gratitude to the management of Millennium Resort Mussanah for being the first hotel to join the program and expressed his confidence in its success. Maurice Derooij, General Manager of the resort said, “We share a common goal with Omran to enhance the lives of local communities and we are honored to be the first hotel in Oman to support this locally born initiative.”
Derooji added, “Similar programs around the world have been tried and tested and have shown how a small donation can go a long way.”
Maryam Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a said that Musahamati is a testament to healthy partnership between non-profit, public and private institutions and to what they can achieve. She said that through this threefold agreement, Dar Al Atta’ can also extend its impact beyond Muscat which is directly in line with its strategy.
