Convention Centre
Set to stand out on a regional and global level as Madinat Al Irfan continues to develop, OCEC Phase One, the Exhibition Centre, was officially opened by OMRAN in October 2016 with Phase Two opening in 2019.

The Rose Theatre
Seating 3,200, the state-of-the-art lyric-style Rose Theatre is set over three levels. Its design and technical systems have been developed to attract leading entertainers and performers, while also catering for international congress delegations.
With its design aesthetic inspired by the Sultan Qaboos Rose, the sustainably built project is today an iconic part of the Muscat cityscape.
Ballrooms
With the flexibility to be subdivided into three or six individual meeting rooms, the Grand Ballroom can seat up to 2,688 guests.
The Junior Ballroom, which can be split into two equals spaces should this be required, is able to accommodate up to 1,026 invitees.
Meeting Rooms
Meeting the needs of global conference organizers are the OCEC 456-seat tiered auditorium and 19 meeting rooms.
Progress & Milestones:
Meeting Rooms 8-14 open and functioning since November 2017
Junior Ballroom and 450 seat Theatre: open and functioning since February 2018
Grand Ballroom and ‘Atrium’ event area: open and functioning since May 2018
Connection through to the Exhibition Concourse: completed in August 2018
Atrium Meeting Room suite (15-20): complete since January 2019
Completion of remaining 6 meeting rooms, 3200 seat Main Theatre, the Main Rotunda reception area, and all external works : Anticipated soft-opening in April 2019.
The second and final phase of the project will boost the Sultanate’s offerings to host significant international, regional and local conventions, exhibitions, meetings, concerts and special events. As a catalyst for business and tourism in the Sultanate, the OCEC will also create hundreds of long-term local jobs and business opportunities for local companies and SMEs.
