The Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) organized a field visit for students from Sultan Qaboos University to its headquarters, as part of an initiative designed to introduce young talents to the dynamics of the tourism sector. The program highlighted the essential skills and knowledge required in the industry, including destination management, tourism marketing, hospitality fundamentals, and the development of unique visitor experiences.
The visit provided students with valuable first-hand exposure to OMRAN Group’s flagship projects and subsidiaries through interactive dialogue sessions with senior officials and guided field tours. It also enabled them to better understand the breadth of the tourism sector in Oman and gain insight into its growth potential across the Sultanate.
Commenting on the initiative, Muzna Al Alawi, Director of Talent Acquisition and Attraction at OMRAN Group, said: “This visit reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing national human capital and inspiring young talents to gain a deeper understanding of the tourism sector. Equipping students with the right skills and knowledge is vital to enabling them to confidently contribute to this dynamic industry and thrive as part of its future.”
The initiative is aligned with #IAmTourism, OMRAN Group’s strategic roadmap to empower Omani youth and prepare them to engage in the tourism job market. The roadmap encompasses specialized programs, hands-on learning opportunities, and field-based training that collectively contribute to building a skilled generation capable of leading the future of tourism in Oman.
Through this initiative, OMRAN Group reaffirms its role as a key driver of tourism development in the Sultanate and an enabler of future opportunities. By strengthening the partnership between academia and the tourism sector, and through its diverse portfolio of projects across the country, the Group continues to advance the national priorities outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
